HOPE:
This is the way
HEART lives out its mission. We ask you to consider living out God's call to us
as true followers of Christ.
There are numerous opportunities for a parish to become involved with HEART for
the Nations. Whether on a small scale (one event) to full parish
involvement (becoming a sister parish) we welcome you to learn about all of our
outreach programs to developing countries.
Water Pollution causes over 50% of all illness
world-wide.This unnecessary death can be stopped with the ceramic water filter
for those people living in small villages
Non-Profit Status
HEART for the Nations is a not-for-profit 501 (C )(3) ministry helping the poor in
Central America, South America, and beyond.
HEART for the Nations visits Youth Groups in the South East
Pennsylvania area. Our presentation at the meeting is done through a power
point presentation which illustrates how the poor live in developing countries.
Along with presenting a realistic look at poverty, we also teach them about the
need for drinking water and the simple ceramic water filter as a solution. The
presentation can be customized by grade level and length of time. The
goals of our presentation are:
to teach the students about poverty
to illicit awareness of the material wealth they possess by
living in the United States of America
to help students appreciate what they have
to generate compassion for the poor and move them to action
to develop the desire to help the poor . . . through water
filters
to organize an event to raise funds for the water filters
In Junior and Senior High Schools we have programs about the
environment, pollution, drinking water and ceramic water filtration. Through a
power point presentation we teach about the poverty which exists in the third
world, the need for drinking water and the solutions found in simple water
filters. You may invite us to come into your class as a guest speaker for as
short as one day or a few days, depending on the degree of depth in which you
would like the students to learn. Programs can include lectures, experiments,
worksheets, research, and follow up studies. Through this program your students
will gain an understanding of the global water crisis and an appreciation for
the life they have in the U.S.
Our goals in presenting the program are the
same as above for youth groups.
to teach the students about poverty
to illicit awareness of the material wealth they possess by
living in the United States of America
to help students appreciate what they have
to generate compassion for the poor and move them to action
to develop the desire to help the poor . . . through water
filters
to organize an event to raise funds for the water filters
Additionally we have these science lesson goals:
to teach about the environment and water pollution in
surface waters
to teach the science of ceramic water filtration
to inspire and guide students to pursue a career in the
environmental sciences and engineering
