Heart Opportunities for Parish Evangelization

Jesus said in Mark 9:41: " 'If anyone gives you a cup of water to drink because you belong to Christ, then in truth I tell you, he will most certainly not lose his reward.' " (References to water, both physical and spiritual, abound in scripture.)

The Ceramic Water Filter purifies water to 99.95% clean. This purity level decreases diarrhea by 50% when used properly.  So the water filter can save babies lives. This is our goal . . . to improve health and save live

HAITI NEEDS YOU

Food and Water are what they need now and this need will continue for many years.

You can help

OUR CORE BELIEFS:

> Dignity & Equality  All humanity has been made in God's image. Through our actions we must express that each person is precious and that the lives and welfare of all people are priorities

> Community & Participation  People are not only sacred, but also social. How we participate in our family and community from our daily actions affects each and every human  being.

> Rights and Responsibilities
We must take responsibility to protect the rights of all people. These rights include the right to life, food, shelter, education, and employment.

> Option for the Poor  As a community of faith, we have the obligation to reach out to those most in need and are called to take action on behalf of the most vulnerable members of society.

> Solidarity We are one human family, regardless of our differences. Answering the call to love our neighbors promotes a culture of respect and lead to peace in our communities around the world.

> Care for God's   Creation

We are called to be good stewards of what has been entrusted to us. Through protecting the environment in which we live, we respect the goodness of nature, a gift that God has given

HOPE: This is the way HEART lives out its mission. We ask you to consider living out God's call to us as true followers of Christ. There are numerous opportunities for a parish to become involved with HEART for the Nations.  Whether  on a small scale (one event) to full parish involvement (becoming a sister parish) we welcome you to learn about all of our outreach programs to developing countries.

Evangelization Ministry

Evangelization in the Church can happen in many ways.  If you are adventuresome and hear a call to become a "missionary" we have opportunities below called HEART Ambassadors. Another way to evangelize and live out your faith is to do corporal works of mercy.  By providing water filters to the poor in developing countries you are performing a corporal work of mercy.  Jesus said in Mark 9:41, " I tell you the truth, anyone who gives you (or another person) a cup of water in my name because you belong to Christ will certainly not lose his reward."

The evangelization team members can sponsor events/fundraisers to raise funds for the purchase of water filters and health and hygiene educational materials.  We have several suggestions for fundraisers from very simple to more elaborate depending on the size of your team and responsiveness in your church community. Visit our Fundraising page for some great ideas.  Your team will not be alone.  HEART for the Nations will gladly help you with your event.  (Back to Top)

Human Concerns Ministry

Water . . .  what is more necessary to sustain life? The Evangelization Mission and the Human Concerns Mission - the two are intricately entwined together.

It is becoming more evident that the world is shrinking and nations are becoming  more dependent on each other for survival.  Our needs depend on all nations working together to promote peace, dignity, human rights, and solidarity. God's people are required by Jesus to meet these needs.

Through HEART for the Nations, a family can help a family . . . a parish can help a parish. . . to meet the physical needs for water and beyond. The Human Concerns team members can sponsor events for the purchase of water filters and health and hygiene educational materials.  We have several suggestions from very simple to more elaborate depending on the size of your team and responsiveness in your church community. Visit our Fundraising page for several ideas.  Your team will not be alone.  HEART for the Nations will gladly help you with your events.     (Back to Top)
